Orphan Disease Testing

The GenoSeq Core has partnered with the UCLA Orphan Disease Testing Center to provide CLIA-licensed, regulated testing for rare (orphan) diseases.

The primary intent of this service is to provide validated confirmation of mutations identified in research laboratories which can then be reported directly to physicians and patients.

The Orphan Disease Testing Center is directed by Wayne W. Grody, M.D., Ph.D. The Laboratory is CLIA-licensed and is actively involved in diagnostic DNA-based testing for a wide variety of genetic and neoplastic diseases as well as DNA fingerprint analysis. The Laboratory provides paternity testing as a medical genetics service for purposes of personal and family information only. They do not accept any legal, court, or child support cases, as the laboratory does not attempt to follow procedures for "chain of custody" of samples being processed. For information on diagnostic testing contact the Medical Genetics office at 310-206-6581 to schedule a paternity testing appointment.
